Every now and then I have to remind myself to post my past work in Maya. Here's my thesis. In the meantime I'm modelling a serpentine dragon, hope to post him shortly too.

It's fall! Had fun coloring an old sketch.
Love painting in Corel lately with as much color as possible. Here are some bunny birds..Inspired by Eastern Rosella, Bronze-winged Parrot, and Sun Conure.

Some simple character work. The top two characters are Alex and Penny. They're relatively new for me, but I like them quite a lot.

The angel was an art trade with a friend online. I interpreted her differently from what I was given, but in the end we both liked the result.

I was looking back on some of my older comics I did for fun. Thought I'd share. These are water soluble crayon and ink, one of my favorite mediums.

(Sorry for some of the more offensive words in here, I was trying my best to make the antagonist as unlikable as possible, haha)

I'm pleased to say I like the final product of this, even though I forgot about it for a few weeks before finishing it. Success!

I don't think I ever posted these but I really enjoyed working on them. Wyn is meant to be an incredibly androgynous character, to the point of confusion on other charracter's parts. I was glad to find that none of my friends could agree on what gender each pose seemed more like.

Finished this one up a week or two ago. I haven't worked tradtionally in a while, so I had a lot of fun with it. Wyn is introducing Eli to his new city friends. Eli isn't sure if Wyn knows or cares that the birds couldn't care less.

Static Boy! from Elise Griswold on Vimeo.
Here's my final thesis! I'm proud to have made it through. I learned a lot from the process..such as even if you think you can fix something, sometimes it's best to start over. Things really snowballed, needless to say. I can't wait to have a chance to apply all this to a new project. I was responsible for story, design, modelling, rigging, animation, lighting and editing.

Self portrait I worked on yesterday. From a photo, a few hours. Corel Painter.

I had a lot of fun with this one, if you can't tell. A lot of time was spent seeing what I could get away with with what was line less and what wasn't. Color! I love Color!
Oh, and the girl on the left is a character of my friend's, who's awesome with character design.

Sometimes I have the most fun doing fan art. It makes you think about why you thought a character was successful, and what you want to bring to the table with your interpretation. That said, here's some My Little Pony and a bit of Loki from Thor.

Thesis Poster!

Can't put my film online just yet, but here's a poster.

Every year the seniors make spoof posters for their films. I spent way more time than necessary on this, but I was determined to make it look legit. The more legitimate, the more hilarious.

(Dark knight Poster spoof)

Figure Work

Thought I'd update with some of my figure work from this semester. I'll miss having easy access to figures.

New Demo Reel

1. An emotion test, done in one week to see how my blendshapes were working.
2. Pencil Test, emotion exercise.
3. Push Pull animation, worked on physicality.
4. Pencil test of simple jump exercise.
5. Pencil Lip Sync.
6. Dance assignment, focused on keeping character on model.
7. Push pull, exaggerated, "toony"
8. Pencil animation of cat
9. Lipsync project, 4 weeks, rig from beginning.

Finally got their designs right!

Penny and Maude!

Gosh, I've had these characters a few years now, but I kept struggling with the design of the painter, Maude. I think they have an interesting relationship, between an establish though shy painter, and a brash young fashion student. I'm really happy with where they are right now.

More Art

This was a sketch I liked to much to let it lay around. I ended up coloring it really simply and leaving it at that.

This may or may not be the Doctor and the Beatles. Except I forgot to make Paul Left handed.

This design ended up on a coffee mug! I made it specially for my friend and I think it turned out awesome. I love obnoxious characters.

Keep forgetting to update! I liked how this one turned out.
